NoMo Kitchen
New Yum City: 1st ed.
Hey!
I’m Kristi, and this is New Yum City, a newsletter about yummy restaurants in New York City. One of my favorite hobbies is finding new restaurant. Catching up with friends over brunch is always a good time and hey, who doesn’t like food? In this newsletter I will be sharing my recommendations on some of my favorite places to eat at in the city.
In this edition, I will be talking about the restaurant NoMo Kitchen!

Located in the boutique hotel NoMo SoHo, this restaurant is actually located closer to Canal Street and Little Italy than SoHo. This modern farm-to-table restaurant serves delectable New American cuisine with Mediterranean influences that tastes just as good as it looks. From their mouthwatering tuna tartare to their incredible Tuscan kale salad, NoMo can make any classic dish taste better than it was.
The name “NoMo” itself is an abbreviation for “nostalgic and modern” — which can be clearly seen in the food, the design, and the overall experience one has at the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a prime Instagram hotspot, particularly with its large vineyard arches at the entrance.

The interior of the restaurant is just as breathtaking. With an airy greenroom feel with lots of plants and industrial wall street art from real New York City streets, it’s truly a great place to dine in. The iconic glass chandeliers and graffiti heart wall (from a street in Little Italy) are some of the most striking elements to the design. And in warmer weather, outdoor seating is available too.

The menu itself changes often, and there are different menus for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.
My top suggestions from each are:
Breakfast
Sweet: Chia Seed Pudding
Savory: Avocado Toast or Omelet
Brunch
Sweet: Lemon Ricotta Pancakes
Eggs: Smoked Salmon Scramble
Savory: Tuscan Kale Salad
Lunch
Appetizers: Tuna or Beef Tartare
Salads: Grilled Little Gem
Sandwiches: Cubano Sandwich
Pizza: Spiced Pork
Dinner
Share: Octopus “a la plancha”
Market: Delicata Squash
Entrees: Ora King Salmon

If any of these menu options interest you, or if you happen to be around Canal Street, be sure to eat at NoMo Kitchen (or at least take a photo outside!).
Happy eating,
Kristi
